"Making A Difference"

BJWDF's 2nd Annual Benefit Dinner

BJWDF took another step in their quest of "Making a Difference" in the

defense of wildlife on Thursday, November 16, 2006, with their 2nd annual

benefit dinner, aptly titled, "Making a Difference." This year the guest of

honor was Bill Jordan himself, while Mel McKenzie of Q106 FM helped

Dan Smith of WISCTV emcee the event. While attendance fell short of our

original goal, over $10,000 was raised to support BJWDF projects around

the world. Madison area businesses contributed generously to the cause

(see list below), including Best Western Inn on the Park, managed by

George Wiesner, who helped make the event possible through their

generous donations. The beautiful invitation and program designs

were donated in full by Glowac+Harris+Madison. For the second year, the

printing of all event material was donated by Advertiser's Press.

There was a successful live auction with artwork donated by Douglas Aja and

Lucie Bilodeau, as well as items donated by Pacific Cycle and Back in Balance

by Patti Frazier. In addition, many people enjoyed the extensive selection

of the silent auction, while listening to the exotic music of Gerard Brill,

lead steel drummer of OD TAPO IMI.

The Shimmering Champagne Soaked Diamond, was a success

thanks to Jo Hoffman and B.R. Diamond Suite. Not only did BR Diamond Suite

donate the diamond and the 150 round cubic zirconia for the fundraising, but

also, each cubic zirconia carried a chance to win a strand of pearls. However,

everyone who purchased the champagne was a winner, as BR Diamond Suite

also donated a sterling silver classic stud style pendant to anyone that

brought their cubic in to BR Diamond Suite after the event.

Although Ali McGraw wanted to attend, she was unable to due to a hectic

schedule. She sent the following letter:

"I am really disappointed to have to miss this wonderful evening (because

of work out of state). I had so badly wanted to meet Bill Jordan, and to tell

him how much I appreciate all of the amazing work he has done for the

animals. Every Christmas, I give the wonderful gift certificates to all of the

children (and many adults!) on my list, and they remind all of us, in a

very personal way, of our connection and obligation to all living creatures.

The Bill Jordan Wildlife Defense Fund does extraordinary work, and I wish

them another huge success with the 2006 event.

For all of the animals everywhere, my best wishes and peace,

Ali McGraw"

We'd also like to thank Andrew Gell for his many donations and tremendous

continuous support.

Please take a look at all of the businesses who have not only understood the

importance of wildlife conservation, but have been generous enough to

step up and help make a difference. We support the patronage of all the

businesses that contribute to our cause; they are indispensable to us.

We encourage you to support all of them!

Finally, we'd like to thank all of our friends who attended the event, because

it is these people who really made the event the success that it was, and as

always, thank you to all of our faithful supporters. It is all of you who are

really " Making A Difference."
